School Visits

The Lincolnshire Aviation Heritage Centre believes that education and information are the key to keeping the memories of the men and women of Bomber Command alive and making sure the ultimate sacrifice made by so many will never be forgotten.

WWII is now back on the school curriculum for Key Stage 3 children. The Home Front exhibition at the Centre covers most of the areas the children need to cover in the syllabus, with exhibits on rationing, air raid shelters, evacuation, the home guard and the land army.

School visits
If you are bringing a school to visit the Centre we have resources packs available for use in the Home Front exhibition. These packs consist of physical items which can be used to show and teach the children about life in the Second World War, for example a pair of trousers have been shortened to show how people adapted them into shorts rather than throwing them away. There is a teacher's pack to accompany the home front resources which can be downloaded from this website.
