Lanc, Tank and Military Machines

21 April 2014

 Event report

Easter comes in with a bang as we try out a new event for the Lincs Aviation Heritage Centre.

The 'Lanc, Tank and Military Machines' was an all new event for 2014 and has proved to be an event which we can expand on in coming years.

The weather stayed pleasant for the majority of the event with only a passing shower on the Monday afternoon as the crowds limbered up for the Spitfire flying display.
The M36 Tank Destroyer which joined us as the 'Tank Element' is a Lincolnshire based machine and put on a real show for the gathering spectators.  Although it suffered some shell problems on Saturday morning the subsequent displays of fire power were really something to behold-

On the Monday artist Neil Higgs opened the auction of his latest piece of artwork.  This time his subject was Avro Lancaster NX611 'Just Jane' and all proceeds from the sale will go towards the continued operation and restoration of NX611.  Details can be found here
