Following the huge success of the painting 'Just Jane' Neil Higgs has painted another piece of East Kirkby themed artwork for auction for raise funds for NX611.
Silksheen Sunset depicts Lincs Aviation Heritage Centre Avro Lancaster "Just Jane" coming into land at East Kirkby during a typical Lincolnshire sunset, Neil's aim is to give a taster of her flying ahead of her return to flight in future. It`s in oils on a 40" x 30" deep edge stretched canvas and has taken 3 months to complete. The painting will be signed by a number of key people both connected with the centre & connected with the wartime airfield (RAF East Kirkby and 57/630 sqn) more information on the signatures will be confirmed as and when they are confirmed. The auction will run until the L.A.H.C Nightrun & Fireworks show at the end of October 2015. Neil will have the painting at the centre at a number of the shows (again, view his website for details), come over and find him in the hangar to see the painting in person.
