Dakota N473DC is returning to stay

03 December 2009

On 17th December Drag Em Oot will be returning to East Kirkby which should become it's permanant base for 2010.  And, we will be offering taxy rides on the Dakota during the summer season.

We are pleased to announce that Dakota N473DC will be returning to East Kirkby again this winter after marking the anniversary of the Bastogne conflict in mid December.  Like last year it will be based here for it's winter servicing but with a slight difference, there are no plans to return the aircraft to it's Summer home of Humberside airport.  2010 should see the Dakota as a permanant exhibit at East Kirkby.  Owner Paddy Green feels that it is better to have the Dakota appreciated by the public at East Kirkby than sat at the airport which is news that we and I'm sure all of it's fans who visit the museum are thrilled with.

We will also be offering taxy rides on the Dakota in the summer season.  With the new laws concerning flying in a Dakota this makes Drag Em Oot the only Dakota which you can actually take a ride on in the United Kingdom.  Tail down taxy rides on the Dakota are first scheduled for Easter Monday.  There are limited seats available so book ahead now to avoid disappointment!
