New Merlin engine on its way

15 September 2009

We receive the first of our restored Merlin engines

The first of an order of two Merlin 500 (24)'s is set to be finished by late November 2009 and to be delivered to The Lincolnshire Aviation Heritage Centre. The engine is being overhauled to an airworthy condition and finished to a setup ready for Lancaster use.

The work is being carried out by Maurice Hammond of Eyetech Engineering and will mark the half way point in the order of two Merlins.
