Fred Panton 6/3/1931-9/6/2013

10 June 2013

It is with extremely deep sadness that we announce the loss of Fred Panton.

It is with extremely deep sadness that we announce the loss of Fred Panton.  Fred passed away suddenly on Sunday evening surrounded by his family.  He worked until the very end, exactly as he wanted it to be.

Very few people have shown the drive and determination in life that Fred has to achieve his aims, along with his brother Harold, in creating a memorial to their brother, Chris, and remembering Bomber Command.  As a family we are incredibly proud of what he has done and we will make it our lives work to continue his.  He was a gentleman, a loving and caring family man and an inspiration to us all.  He will remain in the thoughts and spirit of the Centre forevermore.  The world is a poorer place without him.

The funeral of Mr Fred Panton MBE will take place on Monday 24th June at 2pm at Spilsby Methodist Church. Family flowers only please.  Donations will be for Leukaemia Research.

There will also be-

A service of thanksgiving in his memory to take place at the Lincolnshire Aviation Heritage Centre on Saturday 13th July at 2.30pm (Free Admission, NAAFI closed but light refreshments available)

The donations from the funeral and the memorial service raised £2300 for Leukaemia Research.
