The standard Anson taxy ride experience takes place on very few days this year. On these days you book a time for your taxy ride, and we ask you to arrive at least an hour and thirty minutes before your riding time. You are welcome to come to spend the whole day at the Centre. This experience lasts around 45 minutes.
A typical schedule for a Anson Taxy Ride Experience
Our standard tail down taxy rides in the Anson are on a few select days this year. You enjoy one of the very few chances in the world to be inside a Avro Anson with both engines running. We place guests enjoying a ride in a variety of positions inside including the Middle Turret; Wireless Operator's seat; Co-pilots and Navigators position. The inside of the Anson has been described as a living museum as it is so complete, you'll be able to immerse yourself in the sights and sound of the 2 Cheetah engines purring away. The safety briefing will begin approx an hour before your taxy ride time. You will have the tour of the aircraft and the taxy ride itself which lasts around 15 minutes.
Please note that solo riders must be aged 18 years or over. Under 18s need to be accompanied by an adult on board (one adult per child) which does restrict positioning. Please contact us for more information.
Please note riders must be below 105kg/16.5 stones in weight. Riders may be weighed before boarding
