Museum open day

02 May 2022

Join us for a museum open day

What’s included on your Museum open day?

Join us for an open day of the Centre to watch the Lancaster and Mosquito taxy runs, have a Spitfire and Lancaster fly straight over your head, peer into the Lancaster cockpit and listen to a talk about the Lancaster restoration.  You can dip in and out of these activities while you take a look around the museum or eat at our NAAFI, Burger bar and new Sgts Mess.

We will be giving you the opportunity to look into the Lancaster cockpit through the Flight Engineers window from a set of flight steps, this is included in your admission and there are two time slots that you can queue for the opportunity in a first come first served basis.

We will have our new Sgts Mess open so you can sit in the authentic relaxed enviroment with a 'char and a wad' (tea and cake).

The Spitfire and Lancaster from the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight will both be making an appearance over the airfield for flypasts in the afternoon (weather dependant).

You can take a tour around the old airfield of RAF East Kirkby on our Bedford Queen Mary wartime vehicle (weather dependent). Adults are £3.50, Children (6-15yrs) £1.50
