‘In at the Deep End’ …. Life and loss on Operational Training Units in 1942. Training is in itself a dangerous business but many crews found themselves thrown into the front line as a result of the Thousand Plan and other operations which necessitated maximum efforts. For these crews there were no ‘milk runs’ to get their eye in and find their feet. Before the training was over the training was over and off to the Rhur it was.
