Museum Expansion

24 February 2018

The Centre is ever expanding and the winter of 2017 see more!

This winter we have started on the further expansion of the Centre with the addition of two reclaimed wartime Nissen huts, one of which was originally here at East Kirkby until it was removed after the war!

The Nissen huts are different sizes (24' and 30' wide) but both 80' long.  This will allow the Centre to remove some of the vehicles from the hangar and allow the layout to be altered to best display the aircraft.

Below you can see the construction of the concrete bases and the beginnings of the erection of the 24' wide hut structure.

These huts are situated on the western side of the museum compound and substantially increase to footprint of the Centre.
