The Lincolnshire Aviation Heritage Centre believe that education and information are the key to keeping the memories of the men and women of Bomber Command alive and making sure the ultimate sacrifice so many made will never be forgotten.
WWII is now back on the school curriculum for Key Stage 3 children. The Home Front exhibition at the Centre covers most of the areas the children need to cover in the syllabus, with exhibits on rationing, air raid shelters, evacuation, the home guard and the land army.
If you are bringing a school to visit the Centre we have resources packs available for use in the Home Front exhibition. These packs consist of physical items which can be used to show and teach the children about life in the Second World War for example a pair of trousers have been shortened to show how people adapted them into shorts rather than throwing them away. There is a teachers pack to accompany the home front resources which can be downloaded from this website (below).
Home Front Teachers pack to accompany the learning resources available for the Home Front exhibition. Teachers are welcome to download this file and make copies of the worksheets. This teachers pack includes a list of the items in the resource pack, information for teachers/teaching assistants and suggested activity worksheets.Download
