Ground Crew

Roy Jarman

Roy has been with the Centre since 1994 when the decision was made to start work on the engines and restoring the Lancaster.  Roy and Ian worked together on the airframe of the Lancaster and getting the engines running.  Now officially "retired" Roy is still an integral part of the ground crew when we taxy the Lancaster. 

Pat Ellis and Bill Parsons

Part of our dedicated weekly ground crew Bill and Pat are an essential part of our team.  They assist with the ground running and taxting of the Lancaster acting as marshalls and fuel primers.

The Firecrew

We are supported at the Centre by a group of firemen headed by Steve Shirley currently stationed at RAF Cottesmore.  They provide the fire cover for all of the Lancaster taxy runs and most importantly for the the flying displays and airshows that we hold.  We are extremely grateful for their prescence; enbabling the Centre to improve its events year on year.
